Size Guide

Every Threads & Snitch piece is made to order, which means we cannot accept returns for a size that does not fit. Five minutes with a tape measure now saves a garment you will not wear. This guide shows you exactly how to choose.

Compare a garment you already own

Size labels vary between brands and garment styles. Choose a reference garment you already own that fits the way you want, then compare it with the size chart on the exact product page.

  1. Choose your reference. Use a T-shirt for a tee or a comparable hoodie for a hoodie. Pick something you wear with the same amount of room and layering you want.
  2. Lay it flat. Smooth the garment on a flat surface without stretching it.
  3. Check the chart's measuring points. Use its diagram or written method. A flat width and a measurement around the body are different measurements.
  4. Measure the width. If the chart lists flat body width, measure straight across at the position it specifies. Keep the tape level and record the units.
  5. Measure the length. Follow the chart's stated starting point down to the hem. Do not assume every chart starts at the same point on the shoulder or neckline.
  6. Check sleeves when a measurement is provided. Follow the chart's method. A sleeve measured from the shoulder seam cannot be compared directly with one measured from the centre back of the neck.
  7. Compare more than one dimension. Check width and length together, plus any other measurements provided. Use inches or centimetres consistently.

Use only the measurement tolerance stated for that product. Tolerances and measuring methods can differ, so there is no single allowance for every piece. Fabric and care can also affect a garment's measurements over time.

Choosing your fit

Our current range includes graphic tees and graphic hoodies, with different cuts and size charts. Check the fit description and garment measurements on the exact product page.

These charts show garment measurements in inches and centimetres, not body measurements. Use the chart for the garment you are choosing; the same letter size can have different measurements in a tee and a hoodie.

For a regular or relaxed fit, compare with a reference garment that already gives you the room you want. If you plan to wear a layer underneath, use a reference garment you comfortably wear over that layer.

A size label alone does not show how long, wide or roomy a piece will be. There is no fixed number of inches to add for every style.

If you are between two sizes

Compare how each option differs from your reference garment. One size may be closer in width while another is closer in length. Choose according to the dimensions and shape you want, rather than automatically sizing up or down.

If neither size gives you the proportions you want, consider a different cut. A regular garment in a larger size will not necessarily have the same proportions as a garment designed with a relaxed fit.

Unisex sizing, in practice

When a product is described as unisex, use its own measurements and fit description. Do not automatically convert from a men's or women's size label or assume the same letter will fit the same way across styles.
